Data Quality Analysis

Purpose

The Purpose of the report is to review the stored information structure at the client in order to highlight problems with:

Corporate Data stored on Personal Drives
Multiple copies of Documents in different folders
Multiple versions of Documents in different folders
Excessive data storage affecting retrieval efficiency
Data Security issues
Data backup issues

The results are presented in a format which gives the client both warnings and recommendations. Warnings are used to highlight dangerous situations or areas where the company differs greatly from established best practices. Recommendations offer a plan for moving forward to address the problems discovered.

The report will comment on possible issues relating to:

Compliance
Litigation Support
Storage Management
Knowledge Management

The objective of the report is to provide the client with a clear path towards Data Quality.

Methodology

Folder and File information is downloaded from the client server using a proprietary, secure software utility. The information is then evaluated using a series of filters relating to best practices. The results of these initial data queries are evaluated by a team of Sharpe Concepts information professionals, who develop the report, and the follow up plan required.

Types of Files

Because of the tremendous amount of support files used in today's applications, only image and document files are evaluated. These include all standard document formats (including spreadsheets and presentations) as well as all document formats, PDF, and HTML files.
